Late Mar John Perumattom, the First Bishop of Ujjain”

“They serve God well, who serve his creatures”.
Late Mar. John Perumattom the first Bishop of Ujjain was born on 03/11/1921.

As a true shepherd of his flock he gave us clear direction, mature guidance, timely encouragement and appreciation. He transmitted enduring values, vast experience and clear vision to those who came in contact of him. He reminds us of St. John, 15/16

His unassuming character, his earnestness in his concern for humanity, his sympathetic attitude towards the deprived children of God ie the tribal is exemplary and inspiration for all of us. For him character is not to win battles and provinces but order and tranquility for our conduct of life”.
God has different ways to show his manifestations. The service of diocese in academic fields and medical field and social works in the villages reminds of the famous line of M.K Gandhi.

“The life of sacrifice is the pinnacle of art and is full of joy”.
We deeply lament his demise because he gave us a lofty chance to render our service joyfully in the diocese and bear witness to Christian love practicing that selfless love. We know we make a living by what we get. We make a life by what we give. Any way “God moves in a mysterious way; His wonders to perform”. God is love; and he that dwells in love dwells in God and God in him.
May his soul sing His praises in eternity and intercede for us.
